A letter to Bob Dylan

01 Feb 2017 | Michael McGirr

Dear Bob Dylan, I respond to much in the way of correspondence. Even the committee that awarded you the Nobel Prize for Literature didn’t hear much back from you and a letter from me is hardly in the same category.

A concerted effort

01 Feb 2017 | James O’Brien

At the age of eight I began to learn how to play a small cello. Alex Zivkovic, an accomplished cellist, would be my teacher for 15 years. In meeting the Zivkovic family, musicians through seven generations in Serbia and now Australia, I was to have a connection to living musical history. In their house Beethoven’s spirit came alive.

YJA 2016 Junior Honourable Mention: The Golden Voice with the Golden Heart

17 Aug 2016 | Ben Jansseen

My Dad had contacted 3AW to ask if I could interview Phillip Brady.  Unfortunately, he wasn’t available but his producer said that he might call back. A short time later the phone rang and greeting me was a friendly and calm voice. “Hi Ben, it’s Phillip Brady. How are you today buddy?”  “Hello Mr Brady,” I replied, “can I interview you for my article?” “Go ahead Ben, you can call me Phillip if you prefer.”
