Caritas Australia Lent resources

Caritas Australia has created free and comprehensive teaching and liturgical resources to help teachers incorporate social justice in their Lent program.

Caritas Australia has created free and comprehensive teaching and liturgical resources to help teachers incorporate social justice in their Lent program.

These resources have been designed to encourage creative and critical thinking surrounding key social justice issues. During each week of Lent, students will have the opportunity to hear the stories of inspirational individuals who have made a difference in the lives within their communities, as well as their own. These stories are accompanied by a range of teaching and learning activities that are aligned with the Australian and Religious Education Curriculums, and offer learning across a number of Key Learning Areas.

These Project Compassion resources have been compiled into teacher and student workbooks aimed at lower primary through to secondary classes. There are also a range of liturgical resources to use with students and staff at your school.

New virtual immersions

This year, Caritas Australia is offering an exciting new component to Project Compassion: the chance to interact online with program staff, partners and beneficiaries!

Virtual Immersions are Caritas-hosted Q&A sessions where schools and parishes can engage directly with Caritas Australia’s program operatives in Australia and overseas. The sessions offer a unique opportunity for students and parish groups to connect with the people positively affected through Caritas-supported programs and to learn more about the impact of their generous donations. Click here for more information and to register for the sessions.
