Welcome to Meeting Place, Australian Catholics' alternative to the club scene.  We hope this is a service to the Christian community, putting like-minded people in touch.

Notices are published in the magazine and on our website.  They stay on the site for around six months. Go to it!

How to Place a Notice

Compose a notice of no more than 45 words.

•    Please specify your gender and age.

•    Provide us with your name and full postal address. This information is for our records and will not be published.

•    Include a fee of $20 made out to 'Australian Catholics Meeting Place'.

•    Please take note of our conditions and recommendations.

Fill out the pdf Meeting Place form  with these details and post it with your fee to us at:

Please note we cannot accept notices via email or fax.

Your notice will be given a code, eg: MP207600.

Your name will not appear on the notice.

The fee is simply to ensure bona fide contributions and assist with admin costs.

We will forward you any responses to your notice that we receive. Our responsibility ends there.


How to Respond to a Notice

Write a letter to the person you would like to contact.

•    Introduce yourself, include a photo if you wish.

•    Suggest a means of making contact (phone, email, letter).

•    Please take note of our conditions and recommendations.

•    Put all of this is a plain unaddressed envelope, with enough postage on the front to allow us to forward it.

•    Write the number of the notice you are responding to on the back of this envelope (eg MP207600).

•    Place this envelope in a larger envelope addressed to us.

•    Include a donation of $15 for the first response, and $2 for any additional responses you may wish to make (valid for 12 months).

•    Cheques should be made out to 'Australian Catholics Meeting Place'.

You can send as many responses as you like in separate envelopes.

Conditions and Recommendations

a.    You must be over 18 to be involved. There is no upper age limit.

b.    Use common sense. It is advisable that a public venue such as a café, be the location for a first meeting.

c.    Unfortunately, we are not in a position to offer telephone counselling.

d.    Please be patient. It may take a little time for your notice to appear.

e.    Please be prepared to answer any correspondence you may receive. After all, it's only polite!

f.    We reserve the right to reject unsuitable notices.

g.    We are only able to receive and forward notices from those currently living in Australia.

h.    Notices can only be accepted from the person concerned. Notices will not be accepted on behalf of another person.

Other Suggestions

People use Meeting Place for a variety of reasons. Some are looking for someone special, others simply for a friend to go to the movies with. Several readers have met and eventually married. We ask those of you just visiting this site out of curiosity to remember all of our advertisers and respondents in your prayers, that they might meet the right person, or find a new friend.

Further Information

Meeting Place is a service to the Christian community. It began as a suggestion in 1999 in an edition of Australian Catholics and has grown from there.

Notices appear in the magazine, published five times per year; Summer, Easter, Winter, Spring and Christmas. You can pick up a free copy of Australian Catholics from your local church or school.
